Mission Impossible Link

The opening of the film and throughout the clip is very fast moving and the pictures change a lot in a short space of time which makes the viewer feel as though it is a mission and things need to be done discretely and quick. From the beginning there is a lot of Extreme close ups which is demonstrating and emphasising the facial expression to make it look threatening. There are also a lot of reaction shots, which is letting us see the response of the actor. Most of the shots are in shallow focus that means that every bit of detail is shown but the background and things going on in the back do not necessarily stand out.

My first impression of the clip was good, because the time you get to the end of everything that has happened in the film it makes you want to see more and watch the whole of the film. It creates a tense and exciting mood because of the pace and how fast it changes to another camera angle, and the use of strobe lighting makes it look more eye-catching and appealing. The whole clip is made up of Editing and cutting because there are a lot of individual shots that are put together to make the whole clip and the use of images that are suddenly replaced by another without visibly seeing the transition is used a lot. Montage is also used in the way that rapid cutting is used so that one image is juxtaposed with another image or one scene and then it quickly goes on to dissolve into another scene, this is to create a visual continuity and rhythm.
The sound that is used is the mission impossible theme song and there is actually no voice over’s, or sound effects in the clip just the theme song. This is important to the clip because having the theme song and not any other types of sounds relates it to the film ‘Mission Impossible’ because everyone knows the song. The sound is very important because if you were to put the sound to mute and then watch the clip over again you find yourself getting bored and show no enthusiasm to the film because it is not as exciting and it could just be any images on the screen and not mission impossible film.
The mood that all the colours, sound (theme song), the camera angles and all the other things that make up the clip all give out a type of mood. It is fast moving and sharp that makes it all mysterious, and makes your heart race because you want to know what is going to happen next.
All together I chose mission impossible as one of my clips to evaluate because I like the way it is fast and the use of just one theme song, no sound affects, the colours and all the other parts that make it works and still makes you want to go and watch the film.
